Gripes about work

Number one reason why my boss will never promote me? He thinks I’m eery/odd/scary.

Technical merit will never amount to anything. I’ve believed this for a while, but his comments today during a meeting confirm this reality. I’ve got to get my shit together and leave my team as soon as possible. There’s no reason to stay stationary and continue to watch others promoted above me when there are no good options on my promotion.

What’s even more stupid about this problem? What sparked today’s conversation? I brought up the fact that Shatner’s alcholic wife drank herself to death with gatorade and vodka? Morbid? Certainly, but it was on-topic for the conversation.

I’m just tired of not being the favored kid in an inflated group. I’d rather work 80 hours a week in a regular team and be recognized for my effort rather than work 20 hours in a oversized group that can’t justify their headcount.
