Stuff about military recruitment

This is interesting to me:

I would argue that the respect being shown to the is still generally voyeuristic in nature. People admire what the armed services more now but most of them still don’t want to get paid so little and get bossed around.

And this reporter didn’t do a very good job of explaining what “hitting their recruitment goals” means. The armed services ALWAYS meet their recruitment goals because they accept applications from everyone, only some people have to apply for waivers. If you don’t have a high school diploma or you’re a felon then you apply for a waiver. If at the end of the year they don’t have enough bullet catchers then they give out waivers to the felons and numbskulls.
