Letter to the Honorable Karen McCarthy

Honorable Karen McCarthy,

I just wanted to write in hopes that you will not support the attempt to amend the constitution so that Gays and Lesbians can not become married. There’s nothing wrong with being gay or lesbian and people should be able to enjoy insurance and legal protections if they want to go into a lifetime commitment. Also, the constitution is much too serious a document to put an exclusion of rights into it. It defies the very nature of the document. The constitution is a document that upholds the rights of all American citizens and should not be tainted by such religious hatred and bias.
