Is slapping a guy cool?

I ask that because I was reading an article from Psychology Today that states:

But American girls have always gotten mixed messages. Our culture rewards a certain type of violence in women. “It is the height of femininity to slap a man’s face,” says Murray Straus. “It’s drilled into them.”

I had a girlfriend who used to like slapping me. She did it three times. Then I broke up with her. I warned her the first two times she did it that it really pissed me off.

Is there something I’m missing here? How do y’all feel about this?
