Mortal sins and damnation thereof
Posted by dumbwhore on October 25th, 2003 filed in UncategorizedOK, so I was watching a bloodfest from the 80’s and it sparked an odd thought.
Murder is supposed to be a mortal sin. A sin which God is unwilling to forgive. I’m not hot on the whole Christian theology thing, but as far as I can figure you’re allowed to confess to it but you’re still damned.
But where’s the motivation in a system like that? If you managed to slash one neck why stop then? If you’re already damned then what else could befall you?
Don’t expect this to make sense. I’m tanked and playing video games. But the whole idea bugs me. Not as much as millions of people still participating in mythology but it bugs me.
And if you don’t think being a Christian is participating in mythology then I challenge you with this:
A virgin gave birth to a man. He was slain. He was resurrected.
Smacks of Roman and Greek mythology. Hmmm…. I wonder why.
