French Resistance Hero, and foe of torture, Germaine Tillion Dies

If you haven’t watched Battle for Algiers and you’re interested in Iraq and current American torture arguments, then you’re doing yourself a real injustice. These arguments have been held before and history will probably repeat itself.

Anyhow, Germaine Tillion passed away recently. She definitely earned her full 100 years on this planet. She was an outspoken opponent to the torture used in Algiers.
